Self-doubt is a persistent companion for many creatives. That nagging voice that says, “Am I good enough?” or “Do I really know what I’m doing?” This is often called imposter syndrome, and it’s surprisingly common in creative fields. Imposter syndrome tends to creep up when we push our boundaries, which is actually a sign of growth.
One way to combat self-doubt is to focus on past achievements. Keep a “feel-good” file with positive feedback, reviews, and testimonials. When that nagging voice shows up, pull out the file as a reminder of your accomplishments. Talk to other creatives about their experiences with self-doubt; you’ll often find they share similar stories.
And just remember: even Da Vinci probably had days where he thought, “What was I thinking with that smile?”
